How to Steal and Protect Ores in Grab Ores

Grab Ores features a unique PvP mechanic where players can steal ores from each other's bases. This adds competitive tension to the otherwise peaceful mining gameplay. Understanding both stealing and protection is essential for mid-to-late game success, especially in the Emerald Abyss (400m+) where stealer encounters become common.

How Stealing Works

Approach another player's base within close range and activate the steal action (F on PC, Steal button on mobile, RB on gamepad). You take one ore from their displayed collection. Stealing has a cooldown period between attempts. You cannot steal from protected bases.

Stealing Strategies

Target bases displaying S-tier or A-tier ores for maximum value. Visit servers during peak hours when more players are active. Time your steals after a target completes a deep descent - they may have freshly grabbed rare ores not yet protected. Avoid stealing from players with active shield indicators.

Protecting Your Base

Activate base protection with P on PC or the Shield icon on mobile. Protection prevents stealing for a limited duration with a cooldown between uses. Always activate protection after equipping valuable ores from a successful deep descent. Store your best ores only when protection is active.

Defense Best Practices

• Activate protection immediately after returning from deep descents
• Do not display S-tier ores in your base during peak server hours
• Invest in protection upgrades from the shop for longer shield duration
• Play on smaller servers if you want to avoid stealing entirely
