Grab Ores Merging Guide

Grab Ores Roblox merging guide - when to merge ores, merge strategy by tier, and how merging boosts passive income.

Merging is one of the most important mechanics in Grab Ores Roblox. Combining duplicate ores increases their passive income without requiring rarer drops. This guide explains when to merge, which ores to prioritize, and how merging interacts with selling and equipping strategies. Master merging early and your income will outpace players who simply collect without optimizing.

How Merging Works

When you collect duplicate ores of the same type, you can merge them into a single, more powerful version. The merged ore generates higher passive income than either duplicate alone - typically 1.5x to 2x the base income depending on merge level. Access merging through the M key on PC, the Merge icon on mobile, or Y on gamepad.

Merge levels stack: merging two Level 1 ores creates a Level 2 ore with even higher income. There is no limit to merge depth, making it possible for a fully merged B-tier ore to outperform a single unmerged A-tier ore. This is why merge strategy matters as much as rarity hunting.

Merge Priority by Tier

  • S-tier and A-tier - Always merge immediately. Never sell duplicates of Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, Gold, or Fossil ores. Every merge level significantly boosts your best income sources.
  • B-tier - Merge Platinum, Silver, and Crystal ores when you have three or more duplicates. Two merged B-tier ores can fund your next weight upgrade.
  • C-tier - Merge only if you have no B-tier replacements yet. Once you equip Silver or better, sell excess Copper and Iron instead of merging.
  • D-tier - Never merge Stone Ore. Sell all D-tier ores immediately for quick cash.

When to Merge vs Sell

The decision between merging and selling depends on your current progression stage. Early game players (0-80m) should sell everything except their single best ore - you need cash for weight upgrades more than merge levels. Mid-game players (80-250m) should merge B-tier duplicates while selling C-tier and below.

Late-game players should merge exclusively A-tier and S-tier ores. At this stage, income optimization from merging directly funds deeper descents and rare ore hunts. Use our Ore Calculator to compare merged vs unmerged income for your specific collection.

Advanced Merge Strategies

Experienced Grab Ores players use several merge techniques to maximize returns. The "stack and hold" method involves merging all duplicates of your best ore before pushing to deeper layers - this ensures maximum offline income between sessions. The "tier transition" method merges B-tier ores aggressively during mid-game, then switches to A-tier merging once you reach the Gold Vein at 250m.

During the Fossil Event, prioritize merging Fossil Ore and Ancient Bone collectibles since they are time-limited. These event ores may not return, making every merge level permanently valuable. See our Fossil Event guide for event-specific merge recommendations.
